Women’s Soccer: Equal Play, Equal Pay?

Last week, five top U.S. women’s soccer players filed a federal wage discrimination complaint against the U.S. Soccer Federation, which governs the sport in America. The female players say that they get paid about 40 percent of what players on the men’s soccer team earn—despite the fact that the women’s team generated $20 million more in revenue in 2015 and has won three World Cup titles and four Olympic gold medals. The men’s team, by contrast, has never won a World Cup or any Olympic medals
